Greeter Set Up

Seville Moon Visitor Greeter Set Up Instructions

Thanks a lot for trusting in AW Devices.

If you have read the info notecard you will know that this Device is able to greet new visitors for the day (you decide if whispering, saying, shouting or IM), give them a LM, give them a Notecard, give them a gift and give them money. Also the greeter sends a daily report to the owner by email at the time and email address you decide (SL time). Create a exclusion list to avoid bothering staff, yourself, regular visitors or whoever you consider to not to get greetings or whatever. Sporadic announcements, you decide the interval and also if whispering, saying or shouting.

All these options are disabled by default but you, as the owner, can enable them by using chat commands.

You can also adjust the sensor range, the scan frequency and money amount.

With a single chat command you can check the configuration parameters, exclusion list names, turn sporadic messages OFF, turn the listen propertie OFF, to make the greeter low lag or getting a fast help guide to chat command.

You: hhhhmmmmm, looks good! And how do I get all these things happen?

Me: Simple, just follow these steps:

1) Rez the greeter out of the inventory, grant the permission request to give money (or the greeter will not be able to give money to visitors) and place it in the center of the area you want the greeter to scan. By default the "listen" is ON, so you can start saying commands in order to get the greeter working.

2) Adjusting the sensor reach (by default 10 meters), maximum reach 96 meters. Say this in the chat line:

radius:xxx

Where xxx are the meters around the greeter, in all directions, where the sensor will check for new avatars. You can use decimals.

The greeter will confirm the sensor range.

3) Adjusting the sensor scan frequency (by default 10 seconds). Say this in the chat line:

cadence:xx

Where xx are the seconds between scans.

The greeter will confirm the scan frequency.

4) Adjusting the email address and report time to get daily reports. Say this in the chat line:

mail:xxx@xxx.com:hour:minute

Where xxx@xxx.com is the email address where the greeter will report the daily visitors. Then hour and minute SL time when the greeter will email you the report.

The greeter will confirm the address and time.

5) Establishing the sentence and volume to welcome new visitors.

By default the greeting sentence is disabled, but if you activate it and later you want to turn it off again use this command:

greetingOFF

For activating the greeting sentence do this.

The first part of the sentence you can not change it. I mean, the greeter says: "Hello Avatar name. " what the greeter says after that is what you can establish here.

Say this in the chat line:

greeting:xxxx:y

Where xxxx is the sentence you want the greeter to say, and y the volume, you can choose among 1 = Whisper, 2 = Say, 3 = Shout or 4 = IM.

The greeter will confirm the sentence and volume. You can repeat the command if you make typos. From my view point it is not necessary to say very long explanations here.

6) If you don't want the greeter to give notecards, go to next step 7.

To make the greeter give notecards to the new visitors coming during that day put the notecard in the greeter's inventory (content tab).

If you don't know how to put notecards in the greeter's inventory read the point 10 of this set up instructions.

Say this in the chat line:

notecard:YES

To get the greeter stop giving notecards say this:

notecard:NO

The greeter will confirm the fact.

7) If you don't want the greeter to give Landmarks, go to next step 8.

To make the greeter give landmarks to the new visitors coming during that day put the landmark in the greeter's inventory (content tab).

If you don't know how to put landmarks in the greeter's inventory read the point 10 of this set up instructions.

Say this in the chat line:

LM:YES

To get the greeter stop giving landmarks say this:

LM:NO

The greeter will confirm the fact.

8) If you don't want the greeter to give Objects (gifts), go to next step 9.

To make the greeter give objects (gifts) to the new visitors coming during that day, you must have at least copy and transfer permission for that object, put the object in the greeter's inventory (content tab).

If you don't know how to put objects in the greeter's inventory read the point 10 of this set up instructions.

If you want to give NO objects gifts, like textures, animations, scripts, body parts, etc. Put them inside a box, remember that you must have at least copy and transfer permission for the object box.

Say this in the chat line:

object:YES

To get the greeter stop giving objects say this:

object:NO

The greeter will confirm the fact.

9) If you don't want the greeter to give Money, go to next step 10.

To make the greeter give Money you must have granted the permission request when you rezzed the greeter.

The greeter will give the amount of money that you decide only once a day per avatar. Same for the next day if you don't disable the money giver.

Say this in the chat line:

money:YES:xxx

Where xxx is the amount of money that you want to give to every new avatar coming during that day.

To get the greeter stop giving money say this:

money:NO

The greeter will confirm the fact and the amount.

10) How to put things in the greeter's inventory.

Edit the greeter (right click - edit), press "More >>" if you don't see the tabs. Press "Content" tab. Drag and drop the thing you want to put in the greeter's inventory to the edit window content. That's it.

11) Exclusion List. Add names one by one, you can not add a list of names because the greeter checks if the name is on the list before adding or deleting it.

Adding a new name, say:

exclude:name

Deleting a name on the list, say:

deleteExcluded:name

Where "name" is the name of the avatar you want to add or delete from the exclusion list. Say it exactly as it is since this is is case sensitive.

To check the exclusion list names, say:

SayExcluded

12) Visitor Alert. This option alerts you every time when someone (not include din the exclusion list) inside the area is detected, similar to HUGO if you know it. It is OFF by default.

To activate it say:

visitAlert:sentence:time

Where sentence is what it say after the name of the detected person, for instance, if the sentence is " is now in the shop" the greeter will tel you "John Smith is now in the shop". If you are not online it will IM you so will get an email if so indicated in Preferences.

Time is the interval in seconds between alerts.

13) Sporadic Announcements. By default this is OFF. To activate them say:

sporadic:announcement:volume:interval

announcement, the sentence you want the greeter to say

volume, you can choose among 1 = Whisper, 2 = Say or 3 = Shout

interval, time in minutes between announcements.

If you want the greeter to stop announcing say:

sporadicOFF

14) If this is the first time you set the greeter up or if you have reset the script, you have to touch (click) the greeter once to make it work. Except the sporadic messages, which will work since you say the chat command. So, now, if you touch the greeter it will start working. And so the greeter will confirm it. Also at this moment the greeter will be renamed automatically to your (owner) name. I have made this so that when a new visitor comes, it seems that it is you who is greeting them. You can change the name of the greeter by yourself at any moment if you don't want the greeter to have your name.

15) At any moment, if you want to check the parameters, you can do it if you say in the chat line:

SayConfig

The greeter will give you a report including sensor reach, scan frequency, email address and report time, greeting sentence and volume, Sporadic message, volume and interval, Listen state, notecard giver state, landmark giver state, object giver state, money giver state and amount, and how many names you have in the exclusion list.

16) At any moment, you can get a "Fast Guide to Chat Commands", this means that greeter will tell you a list of commands with a little explanation. Also available a Fast Guide to Chat Commands notecard inside the box you bought. Just say:

help

17) Now that every thing seems to work fine, you can turn the "listen" OFF to make the greeter less laggy. To make that say in the chat line:

listenOFF

The greeter will confirm the fact.

To turn the "listen" ON just touch it again. You will see that when you touch it the greeter reports you the amount and the names of new visitors during that day.

REMEMBER TO TOUCH THE GREETER AFTER SET UP TO MAKE IT WORK

Now that the greeter is working you will see that it points to the new visitors coming. And when there is none in the area (included you) the greeter points up.

Thanks again for trusting in AW Devices and if you have questions don't hesitate to ask Azul Wilder.
